Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Minimum Intermediate (12th) pass or equivalent; maximum Post-graduate. Your merit score is calculated from your Intermediate to Post-graduate marks (High School/10th marks are not counted).
  • Gender: Only women candidates can apply for these posts.
  • Domicile: You must be a resident of the same gram sabha (village) for rural posts, or the same municipal ward for urban posts, as the vacant Anganwadi centre.
  • Widowed/divorced candidates: Widowed candidates need their husband's death certificate and family register copy; divorced/separated candidates need a competent court's order.
  • Family rule: Two women from the same family cannot be selected as Worker and Helper at the same Anganwadi centre.

Selection Process (No Written Exam or Interview)

Selection is done entirely online, based on merit:

  1. Application Screening: Your application and uploaded documents are checked online, including income and caste certificate verification through the e-District portal.
  2. Merit List: A merit list is prepared based on your percentage of marks from Intermediate to Post-graduate qualification (your percentage is divided by 10 to get your merit score, calculated up to 3 decimal places).
  3. Selection: The candidate with the highest merit score in the applicable category and gram sabha/ward is selected. There is no written exam or interview for these posts.

  • Conduct home visits and community awareness activities in the assigned area
  • Coordinate with ASHA workers and ANMs for immunisation and health camps
  • Maintain registers and submit monthly reports to the ICDS project office
