The Rajasthan Autonomous Governance (Local Self Government) Department has issued Direct Recruitment Advertisement No. 01/2026 to fill 24,752 Contract Sanitation Worker posts across 183 municipal bodies — from big cities like Jaipur (4,811 posts), Kota (1,357 posts) and Bikaner (1,084 posts) to smaller towns across the state. These posts are filled under the Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Posts Rules, 2022, and the vacancy count in each body can be increased or decreased by the competent authority as required. There is no written exam or interview — selection is done through a computerised lottery system.

Who Can Apply?

• Domicile: You must be an original resident (mool nivasi) of Rajasthan.
• Qualification: No minimum educational qualification is required for this post.
• Experience: You need at least 1 year of sanitation work experience in any urban local body of Rajasthan (continuous or in separate stints adding up to 1 year), backed by an experience certificate issued after 1 August 2026.
• Health: You should be in good mental and physical health, without any condition that could affect your duties. Selected candidates must submit a medical fitness certificate.
• Nationality: Indian citizens (certain categories of Nepal/Bhutan subjects and specified overseas returnees are also eligible, subject to eligibility certification).
• You can apply to only one urban local body out of the 183 notified — applying to more than one will get all your applications rejected.

Age Limit

• You should have completed 21 years and not completed 40 years of age as on 1 January 2027.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS male candidates (Rajasthan domicile) get 5 years; General category women get 5 years; SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS women get 10 years relaxation.
• Widowed/Divorced/Separated women: No upper age limit, subject to the government retirement age of 60 years.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: Get an additional 5 years relaxation.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a fixed monthly honorarium of Rs. 7,410, as per the Labour Department notification dated 13 December 2024.

• Divyangjan (PwD) candidates: Rs. 400
• Candidates who have already paid the One Time Registration (OTR) fee earlier do not need to pay again.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam or interview for this recruitment. Selection is done through a computerised lottery system developed by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Rajasthan:

1. First Priority: Candidates with 1 year of sanitation experience in the same urban local body they applied to are included in the lottery first.
2. Second Priority: If posts remain vacant, candidates with 1 year of experience in any other urban local body in the same district are added.
3. Third Priority: If posts still remain vacant, candidates with 1 year of experience in any urban local body across Rajasthan are included.
4. Lottery Draw: Candidates who qualify are selected category-wise through the lottery system for the notified vacancies.

2. Log in with your SSO ID and select the Recruitment Portal under Citizen Apps (G2C).
3. Complete your One Time Registration (OTR) - choose your category, disability status and home state, and pay the OTR fee.
4. Click Apply Now, select your preferred urban local body, and fill in the online application form.
5. Capture your live photo and upload your documents, including your 1-year sanitation work experience certificate.
6. Submit the form and note down your Application ID for future reference.

• Sweep and clean roads, streets, drains and public spaces in the assigned area
• Collect and segregate household and municipal solid waste as per Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines
• Clear blocked drains and remove garbage from public places regularly
• Load and transport collected waste to designated collection points or vehicles
• Use safety equipment such as gloves and masks while handling waste
• Report sanitation issues or damaged municipal property to the supervisor
• Support cleanliness drives and special sanitation campaigns organized by the urban local body
• Maintain daily attendance and follow the duty schedule set by the municipal office
