The Lakhimpur Kheri district administration has released a notification to fill 419 Anganwadi Karyakatri (Worker) and 213 Anganwadi Sahayika (Helper) posts on an honorarium-based contract, under the child development projects (Bal Vikas Pariyojanas) running in the district's urban and rural blocks. This is a direct recruitment drive conducted through the state official portal, as per the Uttar Pradesh government order dated 17 September 2025 issued by the Principal Secretary, Bal Vikas Seva evam Pushtahar Department. Only women candidates are eligible to apply for these posts, and preference in selection is given to widows, divorced, and deserted women from economically weaker families residing in the same gram sabha or ward. If no eligible candidate is available in these priority categories for a particular gram sabha or ward, the post is filled from general women residents of that area, based purely on merit.
• Documents: Only online, digitally-signed residence and caste certificates issued by the Tehsil are accepted. Income certificates must also be digitally verified as per UP government rules.
• Widow/Divorced/Deserted Category: If you are a widow, or a legally divorced or deserted woman, you will need supporting documents such as a death certificate issued by the municipal body or a competent court order recognising your marital status.

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 01 July 2026.
• Your date of birth as recorded in your High School mark sheet/certificate will be considered valid for age verification.

Selection Process

There is no written exam and no interview for these posts — your position in the merit list decides your selection. Selection is done in the following stages:

1. Merit List: Prepared based on your educational qualification (higher qualification gets more merit, up to postgraduate level).
2. Category Preference: Widows, divorced, and deserted women from economically weaker families in the same gram sabha/ward get preference in the merit order laid down in the notification.
3. Document Verification: Your residence, caste, and income certificates will be verified online before final selection.

The selection committee for each project area reviews the merit list and preference category claims before finalising the list of selected candidates.
