Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jaora, District Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh) — an ICAR-sponsored farm science centre managed by Shiksha Samiti Kalukheda (SSK) — has invited applications for 1 Subject Matter Specialist (Veterinary/Animal Science) and 1 Driver post. This notification (reference EN 14/78) was published in Employment News (4-10 July 2026). Priority will be given to candidates already working temporarily at KVK or SSK. Selection will usually be through an interview, though a written exam may be conducted if the institute finds it necessary. The post codes T-6 and T-1 are technical grade designations used within the ICAR/KVK cadre structure — a higher number generally means a more senior technical post, which is why the Subject Matter Specialist (T-6) role carries a higher pay level than the Driver (T-1) role.

Along with on-farm testing and demonstrations, KVKs also run training programmes and vocational courses for farmers and rural youth, so the Subject Matter Specialist role at KVK Ratlam is a hands-on extension job working directly with local farmers, not a desk job.

Who Can Apply?

For Subject Matter Specialist (T-6) - Level-10, Rs. 56,100/month:

• Qualification: You need a Master's Degree in Agriculture with specialization in Veterinary Science or Animal Science.
• Desirable: Experience of working in a Krishi Vigyan Kendra will be an advantage.

For Driver (T-1) - Level-3, Rs. 21,700/month:

• Qualification: You need to have passed Matriculation (10th) from a recognized board.
• License: You must hold a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License from a prescribed government authority. You will also have to clear a practical skill test conducted by a committee of the Institute/Headquarters.

Note: Selected candidates for either post will have to sign an agreement with Shiksha Samiti Kalukheda as per its norms, and SSK reserves the right to fill or not fill these posts.

Age Limit

• Subject Matter Specialist (T-6): Maximum age is 35 years.
• Driver (T-1): Maximum age is 30 years.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/PWD candidates get 5 years relaxation, OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation, as per government norms. Employees already working temporarily at KVK/SSK also get age relaxation as per Host Institution rules.

Salary

• Subject Matter Specialist (T-6): Rs. 56,100 per month (Pay Matrix Level-10).
• Driver (T-1): Rs. 21,700 per month (Pay Matrix Level-3).

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following way:

1. Application Screening: Your bio-data and documents will be checked against the eligibility criteria.
2. Written Exam (if required): The institute may conduct a written exam if it feels necessary.
3. Interview: If no written exam is held, selection will be done directly through an interview.
4. Skill Test (Driver post only): Driver candidates must pass a practical driving skill test.

Selected candidates will have to sign an agreement with Shiksha Samiti Kalukheda, and the post will continue only as long as ICAR provides aid to the institute. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, and incomplete applications will not be considered at any stage.
