KSU Technical Expert Recruitment 2026: Overview

Karnataka Samskrit University (KSU), Bengaluru, is filling the post of Technical Expert (Technology and Digitization) at its Gyan-Bharatam Cluster Centre, which runs manuscript digitization under the Gyan Bharatam Mission. The post stayed vacant after an earlier selection round, so the university is now hiring through a walk-in interview instead of a written application.

This is a full-time, contractual project post. It suits someone from computer science who has already worked with manuscript handling, digital imaging and metadata, and knowledge of old scripts counts as an added advantage. Day to day, you will run the scanning workflow end to end — from careful manuscript handling and high-resolution capture to quality checks and archival storage.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment is purely temporary and contractual for eleven months, subject to the approved project provisions and terms.
• Technical standards: All digital images you produce must meet the Gyan Bharatam (Ministry of Culture) technical standards, including at least 400 DPI true optical resolution from face-up scanning.
• Right to change: The university can cancel or modify the recruitment process in line with its rules and project needs.
• Approval: The walk-in is held under the Vice-Chancellor's approval no. 26 dated 15.10.2026.

• Digitize manuscripts at a minimum of 400 DPI true optical resolution using face-up scanning technology
• Supervise safe handling and preparation of manuscripts during the digitization workflow
• Create and validate complete, accurate metadata for each manuscript
• Run first-level quality checks on image clarity, page order, file naming, formats, bit depth and resolution
• Coordinate troubleshooting with the Centre Supervisor
• Send periodic status reports and final outputs to Gyan Bharatam for verification
• Manage archival storage and KDR integration of the digitized material
