KRCL Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment 2026: Overview

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India undertaking, wants Assistant Loco Pilots and Senior Assistant Loco Pilots for its crew lobbies along the Konkan coast in Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka. This is not an open recruitment. KRCL is taking running staff from Indian Railways on deputation under Vacancy Notice No. DE/ALP/01/2026. You can apply only if you already hold an ALP or Sr. ALP post in the regular cadre of Indian Railways. If you are a serving assistant driver and want to work the Konkan line while keeping your Railway pay, this notice is for you.

Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP): open to serving ALPs from a Zonal Railway, a Production Unit or any office working under the Railway Board.
• Senior Assistant Loco Pilot (Sr. ALP): open to serving Sr. ALPs. The notice covers both grades together and does not divide the posts between them.
• Crew lobbies: you can be placed at any KRCL crew lobby: Ratnagiri in Maharashtra, Verna and Madgaon in Goa, or Surathkal in Karnataka.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation term: the normal term of deputation is three years.
• Pay: you keep drawing the pay your parent Railway would give you, plus a deputation (duty) allowance from KRCL.
• Medical fitness: you must hold the Aye-1 (A-1) medical classification and be medically fit for running staff duties.
• Railway quarters: whether you can keep your Railway accommodation during the KRCL tenure depends on Railway Board policy, as amended from time to time.
• Absorption rule: KRCL holds an exemption from the rule of immediate absorption up to 31 December 2026.
• Right to change: KRCL can change the number of posts or the procedure, or cancel this recruitment, without giving any reason.

Application Submission Notes

You cannot send your application straight to KRCL. Fill in the Annexure A proforma attached to the notice, paste a recent passport-size photo with your signature across it, and give it to your administrative office. That office forwards it with your No Objection, Vigilance and DAR clearances and your APAR gradings for the last five years. Do not leave any column of the proforma blank.
