Who Can Apply?

Principal (Rs. 30,000/month):

• Trained M.A. (Hindi/English) or M.Sc (Physics/Chemistry/Zoology/Botany/Maths/Computer Science) with at least 4 years teaching experience in classes 9-12, or 4 years as a trained graduate Headmaster of a recognized Junior High School
• You must not be below 30 years of age

PGT Subject Teachers — Hindi, English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science (Rs. 22,000/month):

• Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with B.Ed, LT Diploma, or equivalent teacher training — the exact subject combination varies by subject (see the official notification PDF for full details)
• For Computer Science, a B.E./B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc (Computer Science), PGDCA, or an equivalent computer qualification with a diploma/degree in computer science is also accepted

Lab Assistant (Rs. 7,147/month):

• High School with Science subjects plus a Diploma in Laboratory Technique, or Intermediate with Science stream

Office Superintendent / Clerk (Rs. 12,430/month):

• Intermediate pass with computer knowledge (CCC certificate or equivalent) and minimum typing speed of 25 words/minute in Hindi and 30 words/minute in English on computer

Care Taker (Rs. 24,200/month):

• Postgraduate degree with B.Ed

Peon, Chowkidar and Cook (Rs. 6,755 - Rs. 7,505/month):

• Class 8 pass

Age Limit

• The maximum age for service in KGBV schools is 60 years.
• For the Principal post, you should be between 30 and 45 years old as on 1 April 2026, with at least 4 years of teaching experience in classes 9-12.
• Age is calculated as on 1 April 2026 based on your High School / Class 8 certificate.

Salary

• Pay ranges from Rs. 6,755 to Rs. 30,000 per month depending on the post — Principal gets the highest honorarium at Rs. 30,000, while Cook gets Rs. 6,755.
• PGT Subject Teachers and the Computer Science Teacher get Rs. 22,000 per month; Care Taker gets Rs. 24,200 per month.
• The monthly pay for Lab Assistant, Office Superintendent, Peon, Chowkidar and Cook posts already includes employer contribution, as marked in the official notification.

Selection Process

Selection is done differently based on the post:

1. Merit List (for teaching and office posts): A merit list is prepared using your academic marks — High School (10%), Intermediate (10%), Graduation (20%), Postgraduate (20%) and Teacher Training/B.Ed (30%).
2. Interview (for Cook, Peon and Chowkidar posts): Selection is based directly on an interview.
3. Document Verification: Your original certificates will be verified with the concerned board or university, and pay starts only after verification is complete.
