KEA Land Surveyor KK Recruitment 2026 — 190 Vacancies

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is hiring 190 Land Surveyors (Bhoomapaka) for the Kalyana Karnataka local cadre under the Revenue Department and Land Records Department. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) Land Surveyor Recruitment 2026 - 190 Posts (Kalyana Karnataka)

The Revenue Department and Land Records Department of the Government of Karnataka has asked KEA to fill 190 Land Surveyor posts reserved for the Kalyana Karnataka local cadre (the Hyderabad-Karnataka region covered under Article 371J) through a common competitive exam. This is a direct recruitment against Group-C vacancies in the region's Land Records establishment. A one-time relaxed upper age limit applies to all categories for this drive. Note: a separate 560-post recruitment covers the regular (non-KK) base cadre across Karnataka.

Who Can Apply?

• Domicile: You must hold a Kalyana Karnataka local candidature certificate (Hyderabad-Karnataka region, Article 371J) to apply for these posts.
• Qualification: An engineering degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or an AMIE qualification from a recognized university.
• OR a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry or Sericulture (including B.Sc.) from a recognized university.
• OR a diploma in Engineering/Technology from an AICTE-approved institution in any branch.
• You must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 18 years old as per the Karnataka Civil Services Rules, 1977.
• General/Unreserved candidates: maximum age 40 years (one-time relaxed upper age limit under Government Order dated 29 January 2026).
• Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B candidates: maximum age 43 years.
• SC/ST/Category-1 candidates: maximum age 45 years.
• Additional age relaxation applies for government employees, ex-servicemen, NCC instructors and other special categories as per Karnataka Civil Services Rules.

Salary

• Selected Land Surveyors will get a salary of Rs. 37,500 to Rs. 76,100 per month under the revised 2024 Karnataka state pay scale.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Karnataka Government rules.

• General and Category 2A/2B/3A/3B candidates: Rs. 750
• SC/ST/Category-1/Ex-servicemen/Third gender candidates: Rs. 500
• PwBD (Persons with Disability) candidates: Rs. 250
• Payment mode: Online only. Fees once paid are non-refundable.

Selection Process

Selection happens through a written competitive exam:

1. Paper-1 (General Knowledge): 100 questions for 100 marks in 2 hours, covering current affairs, the Indian Constitution, Karnataka's history and geography, rural development and Panchayat Raj institutions, and Karnataka's economy and environment.
2. Paper-2 (Specific/Technical Paper): 100 questions for 100 marks in 2 hours on subject-specific technical topics announced separately.
3. Document Verification: Caste, income, Kalyana Karnataka local candidature and other certificates are checked for shortlisted candidates.

Both papers are Offline OMR-based. You need a minimum of 35% marks in the written exam to qualify. Negative marking: 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. If you are from a non-Kannada medium background, you must also clear a qualifying Kannada Language Test (150 marks, minimum 50 marks required) unless exempted.
