The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has released Advertisement No. 05/2026 for the Jharkhand Trained Assistant Teacher (Para Teacher Category) Combined Competitive Examination — JTAACCE-2026 — covering 1,198 backlog vacancies spread across all 23 districts of Jharkhand. This runs alongside JSSC's regular recruitment drive under Advertisement No. 04/2026 (6,106 posts); candidates eligible for both can apply to both advertisements and sit the same exam papers. Every post in this backlog notification is reserved for ST, SC, EBC-I and BC-II candidates — there are no unreserved (UR) vacancies in this drive.

Category-wise, the 1,198 posts split into 716 for ST, 468 for SC, 12 for EBC-I and 2 for BC-II candidates. The vacancies are further divided district-wise, with Palamu (100), Dumka (83+), Giridih and Garhwa among the districts offering the highest number of openings. The Commission may revise the district-wise and category-wise numbers based on requests from the requisitioning department.

Who Can Apply?

For Intermediate Trained Assistant Teacher (Class 1-5 — Level 4, Rs. 25,500/month):

  • A 12th pass (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks plus a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) from a government-recognised institute
  • OR 12th pass with 45% marks plus a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education completed under the 2007-2009 NCTE scheme
  • OR 12th pass with 50% marks plus a 4-year B.El.Ed degree
  • OR Graduation plus a 2-year Diploma in Education (any name)
  • You must also have passed the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) for Class 1-5, or CTET/an equivalent state TET (with a 3-year window to clear JTET after appointment)

For Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher - Science & Maths (Class 6-8 — Level 5, Rs. 29,200/month):

  • A 3-year Science, Engineering, Technology or Agriculture graduate degree with at least two of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany or Zoology as subjects at 12th level, along with B.Ed or D.El.Ed training
  • You must have passed JTET for Class 6-8 or an equivalent TET

For Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher - Social Science (Class 6-8 — Level 5, Rs. 29,200/month):

  • A 3-year graduate degree in Arts, Humanities, Social Science, Commerce or Management with B.Ed or D.El.Ed training
  • You must have passed JTET for Class 6-8 or an equivalent TET

For Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher - Language (Class 6-8 — Level 5, Rs. 29,200/month):

  • A graduate degree with a notified language (Hindi/English/Urdu/Santali/Bangla/Mundari/Ho/Khadia/Kurukh/Kurmali/Khortha/Nagpuri/Panchpargania/Odia/Sanskrit) as a subject, plus B.Ed (Special Education) or an equivalent training qualification
  • You must have passed JTET for Class 6-8 or an equivalent TET

SC, ST, EBC-I, BC-II and PwD candidates get a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks required for their degree/diploma. Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) candidates get a 7% relaxation.

Age Limit

  • You should be at least 21 years old as on 1 August 2026.
  • Maximum age: 35 years (Unreserved/EWS), 37 years (EBC-I/BC-II male), 38 years (women in UR/EWS/EBC-I/BC-II), 40 years (SC, male and female), 40 years (ST, male and female).
  • PwD candidates (40% or more disability) get an additional 10 years of age relaxation on top of their category's limit.
  • Ex-servicemen get an additional 5 years of age relaxation.
  • In-service para teachers who have worked continuously for 2+ years under the Jharkhand Education Project Council get age relaxation equal to their years of contract service, up to a maximum age of 58 years.

Salary

  • Intermediate Trained Assistant Teacher (Class 1-5): Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month under Pay Level-4.
  • Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher (Class 6-8) — all three specializations: Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month under Pay Level-5.
  • You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Jharkhand government rules.

  • SC/ST (Jharkhand domicile): Rs. 50
  • PwD candidates (40% or more disability): No fee
  • The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online during registration.

Selection Process

Selection happens in a single stage — a main written exam — followed by document verification:

  1. Main Written Exam (CBT/OMR-based, objective MCQs): Class 1-5 posts have 3 papers covering your mother tongue (qualifying), a notified language, and General Knowledge/Social Science/Science & Maths. Class 6-8 posts have 4 papers covering your mother tongue (qualifying), a notified language, General Knowledge, and an optional subject (Science & Maths, Social Science, or Language) based on your chosen post. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must submit original certificates for their educational qualification, category, local residence and JTET/TET to confirm eligibility.
  3. Final Merit List: Prepared from your written exam score (excluding the qualifying mother-tongue paper), subject to minimum qualifying marks — 40% for Unreserved/EWS, 32% for SC/ST and women, 34% for EBC-I, 36.5% for BC-II, and 30% for Primitive Tribal Group candidates.

  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching aids for daily classes
  • Conduct regular assessments and maintain student progress records

  • Complete JTET requirements within the specified timeline where applicable
  • Coordinate with school administration on academic planning and reporting
