JMC has released a notification to fill 9 backlog posts reserved for Persons with Disabilities in its administrative and technical cadre, as approved in the corporation's General Board Resolution No. 46 dated 25 January 2024. This is a Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) conducted strictly under the 4% disability reservation mandated by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Only candidates with a benchmark disability of 40% or more, in the categories specified for each post, can apply — this recruitment is exclusively for PwD candidates and general candidates are not permitted to apply.

Who Can Apply?

Additional Assistant Engineer (Civil) - Pay Level L-7:

• You need a B.Tech/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university, OR a Diploma in Civil Engineering with 2 years of experience.

Sanitary Sub Inspector - Pay Level L-5:

• You need to be 12th pass along with a government-recognized Sanitary Inspector Diploma or course.

Junior Clerk cum Computer Operator - Pay Level L-2:

• You need to be a Graduate from a recognized university, hold a government-recognized CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) certificate, and have basic computer application knowledge as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.

Common requirements for all posts:

• Disability: You must have a benchmark disability of 40% or more, in the categories specified for that post (details in the official notification), and hold a valid UDID card/disability certificate.
• Language: You should have adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi, and English, with proficiency in Gujarati.
• Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen (or fall under the other categories listed in the official notification for Nepal/Bhutan subjects and specified refugees/migrants).

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old as on the last date of online application, since this Special Recruitment Drive is open only to PwD candidates.
• Age Relaxation: As per government rules, PwD candidates get a maximum age relaxation of 10 years, but the final age limit will not exceed 45 years.

Salary

• Additional Assistant Engineer (Civil): Pay Level L-7, Rs. 39,900 to Rs. 1,26,600 (fixed pay of Rs. 49,600 per month for the first 3 years)
• Sanitary Sub Inspector: Pay Level L-5, Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 (fixed pay of Rs. 40,800 per month for the first 3 years)
• Junior Clerk cum Computer Operator: Pay Level L-2, Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 63,200 (fixed pay of Rs. 26,000 per month for the first 3 years)
• Pay is on the 7th Pay Commission scale. The first 3 years is a probation period, after which you move to the regular pay scale on passing the required departmental tests.

• All categories of PwD candidates: Rs. 500
• Payment mode: Online only (Net Banking or other online payment options). No other mode of fee payment is accepted.
• Last date for fee payment: 17 August 2026 (23:59 hrs)

Selection Process

Selection is done by JMC's Staff Selection Committee, constituted under Section 44 of the Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949:

1. Competitive Written Exam: All candidates who select a category and pay the fee must appear for a competitive exam. The detailed exam pattern, venue, date, and time will be announced separately on the JMC website.
2. Waiting List: A waiting list may be prepared as per current state government recruitment rules; waiting-listed candidates have no automatic right to selection.
3. Document Verification: Selected candidates must produce original certificates, including your disability certificate/UDID card, for verification.
4. Probation Period: The first 3 years after appointment is a probation period, during which you must pass departmental tests such as the computer typing/computer skill test as per JMC rules and any pre-service training exam applicable to your post.

3. Fill in your Personal Details (all fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory).
4. Fill in your Educational Qualification details and click Self Declaration.
5. Accept the terms and conditions, then click Save to submit your application online.
6. Note your Application Number, then upload your photograph (3.6cm x 2.5cm) and signature (2.5cm x 3.5cm) in JPG format under 15KB each.
7. Confirm your application and take a printout for your records.
8. Pay the Rs. 500 application fee online before 17 August 2026 using Net Banking or another online payment option.

Note: You do not need to upload any certificates or documents with your online application — these will be verified later at the appropriate stage.
