Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is a Maharatna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and one of India's largest downstream oil companies, running refineries, pipelines and fuel outlets across the country. Its Pipelines Division operates the Western Region Pipelines (WRPL) network in Gujarat, and its Regional HQ and residential colony in Rajkot need on-site medical support for staff and their families.

IOCL has invited applications for engaging a Retainer Doctor to attend to its Western Region Pipelines Regional HQ at Morbi Road, Bedi Para, Gauridad, Rajkot, and the IOCL Residential Colony (Mt. Girnar Complex) on Kalawad Road, Rajkot. No written exam is involved — this is a direct contract engagement based on your application and qualification, which makes it a good part-time option for practicing doctors in the Rajkot area.

You will need to visit each of the two sites for 2 hours a day, 3 days a week, and your monthly remuneration is capped at a maximum of 52 hours. Doctors with an MD (Medicine) or MS (General Surgery) qualification are preferred over MBBS-only candidates and are paid a higher hourly rate, reflecting the more advanced clinical expertise they bring to the role.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an MD (Medicine), MS (General Surgery) or MBBS degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a General Practitioner.
• Preference: Doctors holding an MD (Medicine) or MS (General Surgery) qualification are preferred over MBBS candidates and get a higher retainer fee.
• Registration: You must hold a valid medical registration certificate to practice.
• Location: Since you will visit the site in person three days a week, you should ideally be based in or near Rajkot, Gujarat.

Salary

• You will be paid a retainer fee of Rs. 900 per hour if you hold an MBBS degree, and Rs. 1,100 per hour if you hold an MD or MS qualification.
• Your monthly remuneration is capped at a maximum of 52 hours, which works out to roughly Rs. 46,800 to Rs. 57,200 per month, paid strictly on actual attendance.
• You will also get a 5% annual increase on a cumulative basis for each subsequent year of the contract.
• Payment is based purely on the hours you actually attend, so your monthly earnings will depend on your attendance record.
