Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is a Maharatna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and one of India's largest downstream oil companies, running refineries, pipelines and fuel outlets across the country. Its Pipelines Division operates the Western Region Pipelines (WRPL) network in Gujarat, which moves crude oil and petroleum products from the coast to inland refineries, and needs on-site medical support for the staff and security personnel posted at its facilities.

IOCL has now invited applications for engaging a Retainer Doctor to attend to its Western Region Pipelines (WRPL) facility near Samudra Township, Old Port Road, Mundra, and the nearby CISF Mundra Unit accommodation, where the CISF personnel guarding the pipeline site are housed. No written exam is involved — this is a direct contract engagement based on your application and qualification, so it suits doctors who want a part-time retainer assignment alongside their regular practice.

You will be required to visit each of the two sites for 2 hours a day, 2 days a week, giving you a fairly predictable schedule while still allowing time for your own clinic or hospital duties. The engagement is not a full-time government job, but it does come with a multi-year contract and a yearly fee revision, which makes it an attractive side assignment for practicing doctors in the Kutch region of Gujarat.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an MBBS degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a General Practitioner.
• Preferred: Doctors holding an MD (Medicine) or MS (General Surgery) qualification get a higher retainer fee than MBBS-only candidates.
• Registration: You must hold a valid medical registration certificate to practice.
• Location: Since you will visit the site in person twice a week, you should ideally be based in or near Mundra, Gujarat.

Salary

• You will be paid a retainer fee of Rs. 1,100 per hour if you hold an MBBS degree, and Rs. 1,350 per hour if you hold an MD or MS qualification.
• Based on the visiting schedule of about 8 hours a week across both sites, this works out to roughly Rs. 38,500 to Rs. 47,250 per month, paid strictly on actual attendance.
• You will also get a 5% annual increase on a cumulative basis for each subsequent year of the contract.
• Payment is based purely on the hours you actually attend, so your monthly earnings will depend on your attendance record.
