Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), one of India's largest commercial undertakings and a Fortune Global 500 company, has released notification number GR/P/APP/2026-27 to engage 102 apprentices across 11 trades and disciplines at its Guwahati Refinery in Assam. This is a Skill Building Initiative that covers Trade Apprentices and Technician Apprentices in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and commercial streams. There is no written exam — the merit list is prepared from the marks you scored in your qualifying exam.

Total: 102 seats across 11 trades and disciplines. Seats include reservation for UR, EWS, SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and PwBD as per rules.

Who Can Apply?

General Rules

• You must have already passed the required qualification from a recognised Board/University/Institute as a regular full-time course with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwBD in reserved seats).
• Distance, correspondence, or part-time qualifications are not accepted.
• If you already hold a higher qualification like BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB or MCA, you are not eligible.
• You can apply for only one trade/discipline.

Trade-wise Qualification

• Codes 101, 103: 3-year B.Sc with Maths, Physics and Chemistry (or Industrial Chemistry)
• Code 102: Matric with ITI in Fitter trade (minimum 2 years, Pass class)
• Codes 104-107: 3-year Diploma in the relevant engineering branch
• Code 108: 3-year B.A./B.Sc/B.Com
• Code 109: 3-year B.Com
• Codes 110, 111: Class XII pass (Code 111 also needs a Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate)

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 24 years old as on 30 June 2026 (for General/EWS candidates).
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), and up to 10 years for PwBD candidates as per government rules.

Salary

• You will get a monthly stipend as prescribed under the Apprentices Act 1961/1973 and IOCL guidelines.
• No HRA or company accommodation is provided to apprentices.
• You will be covered under suitable Accident Insurance during the training.

Application Fee

• There is no application fee mentioned for any candidate.

Selection Process (No Written Test)

Selection is merit-based:

1. Merit List: Candidates are ranked on the percentage of marks (aggregate of all years/semesters) in the qualifying exam, in descending order. Preference is given to first-time apprentices.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called to verify original certificates.
3. Medical Fitness: You must pass a pre-engagement medical examination to be finally engaged.

In case of a tie, the older candidate (by date of birth) gets the higher rank; if still tied, higher Matriculation marks are considered.

How to Apply

1. Register on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) for codes 101, 102, 103, 108, 109, 110 and 111, or on the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) for codes 104, 105, 106 and 107.
2. Search for the IOCL Guwahati Refinery Unit and apply against the relevant trade/opportunity.
3. Then visit iocl.com and fill the additional details in the Microsoft/Google form (Step II — this is mandatory).
4. Make sure your profile details and aggregate percentage are correct before final submission.
5. Complete both Step I and Step II before 28 July 2026 (5:00 PM).
