Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Maharatna and Fortune Global 500 company, has released Advertisement No. JR/01/2026-27 to engage 647 Trade Apprentices and Technician Apprentices at its Gujarat Refinery unit under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The training covers 11 trades and disciplines, from Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation plant work to office roles like Secretarial Assistant and Data Entry Operator. This is a training engagement, not a permanent job — IOCL has no duty to give you a regular job once the apprenticeship ends.

Seats are tentative and include reservation for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS and PwBD as per Gujarat state norms.

Who Can Apply?

Your qualification depends on the trade you pick. You must have passed in regular full-time mode with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD on reserved seats).

Operation & Engineering Trades

• Attendant Operator / Boiler: B.Sc with Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry
• Fitter: 10th pass with a 2-year ITI in Fitter trade (NCVET/SCVT recognised)
• Technician (Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation): 3-year Diploma in the relevant engineering branch

Office Trades

• Secretarial Assistant: B.A. / B.Sc / B.Com
• Accountant: B.Com
• Data Entry Operator: Class 12 pass (Skill Certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operator needed for Code 111)

You cannot apply if you already hold BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB or MCA, or if you have more than one year of work experience after your qualification.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 24 years old as on 30 June 2026.
• SC / ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 29 years)
• OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation (up to 27 years)
• PwBD: 10 years relaxation

Stipend

• You will get a monthly stipend as fixed under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and IOCL's rules.
• Apprentices in plant trades get free safety shoes and a helmet during training.
• No HRA or company accommodation is given to apprentices.
• You also get accident insurance cover and paid leave during the training period.

Application Fee

• There is no application fee for this apprentice engagement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test. Selection is done in this order:

1. Merit List: You are ranked by the percentage of marks in your qualifying exam (all subjects, all years), in descending order. First-time apprentices get preference.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates show their original certificates. SC/ST/PwBD candidates get second-class train fare reimbursed.
3. Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness: Only candidates declared medically fit are finally engaged.

If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate (by date of birth) gets the higher rank.

How to Apply

1. Register on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) for Codes 101, 102, 103, 108, 109, 110, 111, or the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) for Codes 104, 105, 106, 107.
2. Make sure your profile and marks percentage are 100% correct.
3. Apply for the Gujarat Refinery opening (NAPS Establishment ID E03202408538, NATS ID WGJVDS000002).
4. Go to iocl.com and fill the mandatory Microsoft Form with your extra details.
5. Finish both steps before 28 July 2026 (5:00 PM), or your application will be rejected.

• Complete the structured training modules laid out under the Apprentices Act
• Attend all training sessions and skill assessments on time
