Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has released Advt. No. 29/2026 for 1 Junior Research Fellow position. The role is sanctioned under a DBT project titled "Development of genomic resources, elite lines and germplasm conservation on high density rootstocks in apple under Himalayan Bioresource Mission," led by Project Investigator Dr. Namisha Sharma. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the 2-year project. Candidates with a strong background in molecular biology and bioinformatics are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc. or an equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects such as Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Biochemistry
• Marks: Minimum 55% marks or an equivalent grade point (50% for OBC/ST/SC candidates)
• Mandatory: You must have qualified a national-level exam such as NET, GATE, GPAT, or BET
• Preferred: Knowledge of Bioinformatics and hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, especially analysis of NGS data

Age Limit

• You should be up to 28 years old to apply for this position.

Salary

• The selected candidate will get Rs. 31,000 per month plus 16% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
