ILBS Walk for Life Project Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi is building a small technical and clinical team for “Walk for Life”, a research project funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). ILBS is an autonomous super-speciality institute under the Government of NCT of Delhi and a deemed university. The project combines AI/ML, signal processing, medical imaging and wearable hardware with clinical data collection, and the job descriptions point to screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) using breath, speech, 3D body and retinal data.

Selection is through a walk-in interview on the ILBS campus, so there is no online form to fill. Every post is purely contractual and ends with the project, which makes this a short, project-bound engagement best suited to engineers, data scientists and clinical researchers who want hands-on healthcare AI experience inside a working hospital.

Posts and Disciplines

• Signal Processing Engineer (Breath/Speech): for Electrical/ECE, Electronics, Instrumentation, Biomedical, Signal Processing, Computer Science/IT, Mathematics, Data Science or AI/ML backgrounds with audio and biomedical signal work.
• Bio Medical Data Scientist: for Biomedical, Electrical/ECE, Electronics, Instrumentation or Computer Science/IT graduates with medical device development or calibration experience; statistics and econometrics knowledge is a plus.
• Senior AI/ML Engineer: the senior software role on the team, open to Computer Science/IT, AI/ML, Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Electronics and Biomedical streams with healthcare software experience.
• AI/ML Engineer: for deep-learning engineers who have worked on healthcare analytics, medical image segmentation or face and body tracking.
• Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator: for M.Sc. holders in Nursing, Life Sciences, Nutrition or Dietetics with clinical trial or population study experience.
• Research Assistant/Clinical Coordinator: for postgraduates in Public Health, Clinical Research, Allied Health Sciences or Life Sciences who can handle patients and collect clinical data.
• Embedded Hardware and Firmware Engineer: for Electronics/ECE, Electrical, CSE, Instrumentation, Biomedical, Mechanical or Physics backgrounds who build wearable and sensor-based devices.

Post-wise Duties

Signal Processing Engineer (Breath/Speech)

You will build predictive algorithms for breath and speech biomarkers, train and test ML models on 3D, breath and speech data, and work with clinicians to read the results.

Bio Medical Data Scientist

You will evaluate and set up the body and retinal scanners, analyse patient health parameters, images and biomarkers with statistical and ML models, and work with the software developers on device communication.

Senior AI/ML Engineer

You will build and tune AI models that combine medical imaging, speech and clinical data, mentor the junior engineers, and put secure data-handling and interoperability rules in place.

AI/ML Engineer

You will develop predictive algorithms for NCD screening, train and validate models on 3D and retinal data, and work with clinicians on data interpretation.

Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator

You will run imaging sessions, collect subject data, keep quality and standards consistent, coordinate patient assessments with ethical data collection, and support population surveys and follow-ups.

Research Assistant/Clinical Coordinator

You will handle patients and collect clinical data, document and validate it, and follow the project's research ethics, informed consent and SOPs.

Embedded Hardware and Firmware Engineer

You will design wearable biomedical devices, write firmware, integrate sensors such as PPG, ECG, SpO2, temperature and IMU, build and test PCB prototypes, and troubleshoot and validate the devices.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is purely contractual until 31 December 2026 and ends with the project.
• No regular claim: Selected candidates have no claim to a regular job at ILBS or to continue in any other project.
• No extra benefits: HRA, Provident Fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession and medical claims are not admissible.
• No TA/DA: You will not be paid any travel or daily allowance for attending the walk-in.
• Experience rule: Experience counts only from the date you got the essential qualification.
• Extra screening: If a large number of candidates turn up, ILBS may shortlist on qualifications and experience and hold a written test and/or interview.
• Disqualification: Canvassing, or giving false or misleading information at any stage, leads to immediate disqualification.
• Changes: ILBS can cancel or modify the walk-in or the advertised posts without giving reasons.
