IITGN Postdoctoral Researcher Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, one of India's newer IITs known for its interdisciplinary research culture, has invited applications for 1 Post-Doctoral Researcher position under the GAPD Scheme. This role is part of the C2S Category-II project titled "Secure and Energy efficient Mixed domain Compute in memory-based AI accelerator Chip for Edge applications," funded by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY). You will work under the guidance of Prof. Joycee Mekie on cutting-edge VLSI and chip design research.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electronics and Communications, Electronics and Instrumentation, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science, or related areas
• Candidates who have submitted their thesis are also eligible to apply
• Your doctoral work should be aligned with the project requirements (VLSI, chip design, AI accelerators)
• Minimum 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards
• Minimum 55% or equivalent grade in Class 10th and 12th

Preferred Skills

• Excellent understanding of digital and analog circuits
• Thorough exposure to VLSI tools and techniques
• Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, Verilog/SystemVerilog
• Interest in computer architecture and knowledge of system simulators
• Experience with ASIC design and testing
• Excellent communication skills and ability to carry out independent research

Candidates with prior research experience, especially in research positions, will be given priority.

Salary

• Monthly Salary: Rs. 72,000 to Rs. 84,000 (consolidated)
• This is a consolidated salary — no separate allowances are provided

Contract Duration

• Initial appointment for 12 months
• Can be extended by 1 more year based on your performance and availability of project funds
