IIT Mandi Project Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) has invited applications for 1 Project Associate position under the project titled "CHETNA: Cognitive Hardware for EEG/EMG-based Therapeutic Neuro-Assistance." This research project is funded by the IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) scheme of the Government of India. The project is led by Prof. Shubhajit Roy Chowdhury at the Centre for Human Computer Interaction. Engineering graduates and postgraduates with interest in biomedical signal processing and cognitive hardware can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Option 1 - B.Tech Holders:

• Qualification: B.Tech (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering
• Minimum Marks: 70% aggregate marks or 7.0 CGPA
• GATE: Valid GATE qualification in any year is mandatory for B.Tech holders

Option 2 - M.Tech Holders:

• Qualification: M.Tech (or equivalent) in the same disciplines listed above
• Minimum Marks: 70% aggregate marks or 7.0 CGPA
• GATE is not required for M.Tech holders

Relaxation of marks may be granted to OBC (NCL), SC, ST, and PwD candidates as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• You will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000 per month.
• The initial appointment is for 12 months or until the end of the project, whichever comes first.
• Your services may be renewed for a few more months or up to the project duration based on satisfactory performance.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Shortlisting: IIT Mandi will shortlist eligible candidates based on qualifications, academic merit, and project requirements. The institute reserves the right to set higher criteria for shortlisting beyond the minimum advertised qualifications.
2. Interview (Offline or Online): Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The interview details will be displayed on the website or communicated individually.
