IIT Kharagpur SRF CORAL Recruitment 2026

IIT Kharagpur SRF CORAL Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) is recruiting a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for a research project at its Centre for Ocean, River, Atmosphere and Land Sciences (CORAL). The work concerns the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea and brings together NISAR observations and numerical modelling. You would join a project led by Mihir Kumar Dash, with support from the Space Applications Centre.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project appointment: This is a time-bound research assignment at IIT Kharagpur. Your engagement belongs to the named project, rather than a general recruitment drive across the institute.
• Initial tenure: The appointment starts with one year from your joining date. This is the initial engagement described in the notification, so you should distinguish it from the longer period that may become possible through extension.
• Extension: Continued engagement depends on performance. The notice allows extension up to a maximum period of four years, but the appointment ends earlier if the project terminates. An extension is therefore a provision, not an unconditional promise of continued work.
• Research setting: The assignment sits within CORAL at the Kharagpur institute. The named seas describe the geographical focus of the study; the recruitment is for the institute's project and does not advertise separate appointments in those regions.
