IIT Guwahati CLST Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) is recruiting project staff for COIL-D: Center for Indian Language Data at its Center for Linguistic Science & Technology (CLST) in Assam. The notice brings engineering and language roles into the same project recruitment. These are short project appointments, with separate role requirements for the technical and language sides of the team.

Posts and Disciplines

• Associate Project Engineer: the engineering role connected with large language models and machine translation in the COIL-D project.
• Assistant Project Engineer: the technical role associated with machine learning, deep learning and natural language processing within the same centre.
• Assistant Language Expert: the language-focused role covering Hindi, Assamese, Manipuri or Boro in text and speech. This is distinct from the engineering roles in the notice.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Appointment period: each role has a three-month appointment. Keep this short tenure in mind when you consider the move to the project.
• Accommodation: IIT Guwahati will not provide campus accommodation to people selected through this notice. You will need to account for that when planning your stay.
• Interview travel: the institute will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
• Individual communication: shortlisted applicants will receive their call letters separately. The letter will give the time and either an offline venue or an online meeting link, depending on the interview arrangement.
