Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) is hiring a Project Manager (Post Doctoral Researcher) and Project Engineer for a TIH-IITB-funded project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The team is developing an Internet of Things (IoT)-based mouth-opening device, combining sensors, embedded systems and software. You will work within the research project led by Dr. Jose Immanuel R., where hardware and software must work together as a reliable prototype.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Manager (Post Doctoral Researcher): This role leads the development team and links the device's hardware, embedded systems and software work. It carries responsibility for coordinating the project from planning to delivery.
• Project Engineer: This role concentrates on the software and data side of the device. It connects incoming sensor information with processing tools, visual displays and analysis.

Post-wise Duties

Project Manager

You will plan tasks, distribute work and coordinate device development from start to finish. The technical work includes bringing sensors, microcontrollers, data acquisition, wireless communication and device software together into a working system.

You will lead prototype testing and validation, checking that the combined components deliver the required function, accuracy and reliability. Coordinating with domain experts and other stakeholders, resolving technical problems and keeping project documentation are also part of your assignment.

Project Engineer

You will build software for sensor data collection and processing, including filtering and noise reduction. The role also covers dashboards or applications that display readings in real time and support data logging, analysis and reports.

You will apply machine learning, statistics and signal processing to identify patterns and improve measurement accuracy. You will work with the mechanical and electronics teams during integration and testing, using those checks to improve the performance of the complete device.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project term: The engagement lasts for one year. Your appointment follows the rules of IIT Bhilai and the funding agency that apply to this project.
• Joining: You must be ready to take up the assignment immediately after receiving an offer. Keep this requirement in mind if you currently have another commitment.
• Performance: The fellowship can end before the agreed tenure with 30 days of notice if your performance is unsatisfactory. The stated duration does not remove this condition.
• Travel: You must meet your own travel and daily expenses for attending the interview. The institute will not reimburse these costs.
• Committee decision: The selection committee has the final say on the appointment. The institute and funding agency terms continue to govern the engagement after an offer is issued.
