IISER Pune Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier institute for research and teaching in basic sciences, declared an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament. It has invited online applications from Indian citizens for three different non-teaching roles on a purely temporary and contract basis. There is no written exam — shortlisted candidates are called directly for the selection process based on their qualification and experience.

Vacancy Breakdown

• Counsellor (Male): 1 post — starts at Rs. 88,650/month
• Internal Auditor: 1 post — Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 88,650/month
• Audit Assistant: 2 posts — starts at Rs. 40,300/month

Note: The number of posts may change depending on the institute's requirements during selection.

Who Can Apply?

Counsellor (Male)

• Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with at least 55% marks, OR a Master's Degree with 55% in Clinical Psychology plus 5 years' experience in counselling students in a reputed academic institute or organisation.
• Your mark sheet and degree must mention specialisation in 'Clinical Psychology', or you must submit a letter from your university confirming it.
• Preferred: Additional qualification in Mental Health or Counselling, plus good communication and multilingual skills.

Internal Auditor

• Graduation with at least 55% marks OR Post Graduation with at least 50% marks in any discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience in expenditure management, works and tax audit, establishment matters, contract works and purchase, with knowledge of accounting formats, CPWD Manuals and General Financial Rules (GFR). Private sector / audit firm experience also accepted.
• You should know computerised work systems and be able to work on Tally / ERP software.
• Preferred: Inter CA / CMA / CS / CFA. Retired CAG, Central Government, or PSU officers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Audit Assistant

• Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with at least 50% marks.
• At least 2 years' experience in accounts with good knowledge of Tally, MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: M.Com degree, knowledge of government procedures, and good communication skills.

Age Limit

• Counsellor (Male): Not more than 40 years
• Internal Auditor: Not more than 40 years (up to 65 years for retired government employees receiving a pension)
• Audit Assistant: Not more than 33 years
• Age is counted as on the last date of online application (15 June 2026).
• Age relaxation may be allowed for candidates with qualifications and experience above the advertised level, with prior approval of the competent authority.

Salary

• Counsellor (Male): Starts at Rs. 88,650 per month. Higher pay possible for deserving candidates.
• Internal Auditor: Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 88,650 per month based on work experience. For retired government employees on pension, pay is as per Government of India norms.
• Audit Assistant: Starts at Rs. 40,300 per month. Higher pay possible for deserving candidates.
• All posts carry consolidated pay (no separate allowances).

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test. Selection is done like this:

1. Screening of applications: The Screening Committee shortlists candidates based on qualification and experience above the minimum required.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending.
3. Document Verification: You must bring original documents for age, education, and experience.

Only candidates who apply online will be considered. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email.

• Provide counselling services to students, staff, faculty and their family members (Counsellor)
• Conduct workshops, talks and group discussions on emotional and interpersonal needs (Counsellor)
• Plan and carry out internal audits of core grants, sponsored projects, endowments and HEFA activities (Auditor roles)
• Complete the full audit cycle covering risk management, financial reliability and compliance with rules (Auditor roles)
• Obtain and analyse accounting documents, reports and data, then prepare audit reports
• Identify gaps, recommend risk-reduction measures and suggest cost savings
• Document processes, prepare audit findings and conduct follow-up audits
• Keep open communication with management and assist in administrative duties
