Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV), an Institute of National Importance under the IIM Act 2017, is looking for distinguished experts who have made remarkable contributions in their professions. The appointment follows the UGC Guidelines for Engaging Professor of Practice in Universities and Colleges under the National Education Policy 2020. This is a contract position available on both part-time and full-time basis. Who Can Apply?

• Experience: You need at least 15 years of professional experience in your field, preferably at a senior level.
• Qualification: A formal academic degree is not mandatory if you have exemplary professional practice. Publications and other standard academic eligibility criteria are also exempted.
• Eligible Fields: Engineering, science, technology, entrepreneurship, commerce, social sciences, media, literature, fine arts, civil services, armed forces, law, community development, rural development, and other allied areas.
• Not Eligible: Serving or retired teaching professionals cannot apply for this position.
• What to Submit: A detailed biodata covering educational qualifications, work experience, domains of expertise, achievements, awards, and contact details of three professional references. Also include a brief write-up about your potential contribution to the Institute.

Salary

• The salary and compensation details are not specified in the notification.
• These positions are funded by the Institute from its own resources.
• For reference, regular IIM Professors draw a salary of Rs. 1,59,100 to Rs. 2,20,200 per month under Level 14A of the 7th CPC. However, Professor of Practice compensation on contract may differ and will likely be discussed during the selection process.

Selection Process

Contract Terms

• Duration: Initial engagement for up to 1 year, as per UGC guidelines.
• Maximum Duration: Total service at a given institution should not exceed 3 years, extendable by 1 year in exceptional cases (maximum 4 years total).
• Basis: Part-time or full-time, as per the Institute's requirements.
