The Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Jaipur is hiring 1 Driver on a regular basis. If you have passed 10th (Secondary) from a recognised Board and hold a valid LMV and MCWG Driving Licence, you can apply by post. IDS Jaipur Driver Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Jaipur is a premier autonomous social science research institute under the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. Through Advertisement No. IDSJ/2026-27/01, the Institute is inviting applications for one Driver (Unreserved) position on a regular basis. This is a permanent post for a 10th pass candidate who holds a valid driving licence for light motor vehicles (LMV) and motorcycles with gear (MCWG).

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• You must have passed 10th Class (Secondary) from a recognised Board or its equivalent examination.
• You must hold a valid LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) and MCWG (Motorcycle with Gear) Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualification

• Experience as a driver in a Government Department, Research Institute, Organisation or Autonomous Institute

Additional Advantage

• Proficiency in reading and writing Hindi
• Ability to read basic English words

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old.
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of Rajasthan norms for reserved categories.
• Retired persons are not eligible to apply for this position.

Salary

• Pay Band: Rs. 5200 - Rs. 20200 per month
• Grade Pay: Rs. 2400
• Pay scale is under Partial Implementation of 7th CPC (55%)
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Institute rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Written Test and/or Personal Interview of shortlisted candidates. Meeting the eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee an interview call.
2. Document Verification at the time of interview, including valid driving licence, NOC and Character Certificate (if employed).
3. Police Verification and Medical Fitness Certificate must be produced at the time of joining.

The decision of the selection committee will be final. The selected candidate will be on probation for two years.

• Drive the Institute's vehicles safely for official duties and staff travel
• Maintain the assigned vehicle in clean, running and roadworthy condition
• Check fuel, oil, tyres and other vehicle parts on a daily basis
• Follow all traffic rules and safety guidelines while on duty
• Keep a proper log of vehicle usage, fuel consumption and trips
• Report any repair, service or breakdown needs to the office on time
• Be available for duty during office hours and on emergency call-outs
• Help with loading and unloading of office material when needed
