ICMR NIHR Young Professional II Administration Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Indian Council of Medical Research - National Institute of Health Research, Jodhpur (ICMR-NIHR) is hiring Young Professional-II in Administration on a temporary contract. The institute works under the Department of Health Research in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This engagement supports the council's effort to share its research output, outcomes and impact more effectively.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract duration: You start with a one-year engagement. The institute can extend it twice, for one year each time, after a committee reviews your performance and the institute's need for your services. The total engagement cannot exceed three years.
• Employment status: You will work as a contractual professional and cannot claim regular employee or official status in ICMR. The engagement creates no right to regularisation or further extension; you must sign an undertaking accepting this before joining.
• Ending the contract: The notice allows termination without advance notice or a stated reason. In the normal course, either side may end the contract with at least one month's notice.
• Working arrangements: Your working hours follow those of regular ICMR staff. Working beyond office hours brings no extra benefit. Continuous unauthorised absence for eight days without a valid reason ends the engagement automatically.
• Leave: The notice provides eight days of leave per calendar year on a proportionate basis and two restricted holidays. Unused leave does not carry forward. Maternity leave follows the stated statutory provisions, while paternity leave is not provided.
• Joining: Be ready to join immediately or within one week of the offer. You must arrange your own travel and accommodation for the interview or personal discussion.
• Insurance: You are responsible for arranging and maintaining suitable insurance at your own expense during the contract.
• Conduct: Institutional rules, confidentiality and conflict-of-interest requirements apply throughout the engagement. Breaches or unsatisfactory service can lead to termination. You must also cooperate with audits and investigations connected with the contract.
• Recruitment decisions: The Director may change the number of posts, cancel or revise the recruitment, or advertise again. The institute may also create a waiting panel valid for one year. Meeting the stated requirements does not guarantee shortlisting.
• Language of the notice: If the English and Hindi versions differ, the English advertisement takes precedence.
