Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education - Tropical Forest Research Institute (ICFRE-TFRI), Jabalpur has announced project-based engagement for 8 posts under forestry, bamboo, coal mine rehabilitation, ash utilisation, medicinal tree conservation, mangrove research, and forest genetic resource projects. The engagement is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, so the appointment will continue only while the relevant project and funds continue.

Who Can Apply?

Research Associate-I

• Desirable skills: Data collection, analysis, report writing, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are preferred.

Junior Research Fellow and Junior Project Fellow

• Qualification: You need a first class M.Sc. in the subject area listed for the project.
• Relevant fields: Forestry, Agriculture, Botany, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Natural or Marine Sciences, Ecology, Marine Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, Plant Breeding, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related fields are mentioned in the notice.
• Desirable skills: Computer knowledge, GIS/Remote Sensing, propagation techniques, lab work, molecular marker/PCR work, HPLC/HPTLC, and report writing are useful for some projects.

Project Assistant

Salary

• Research Associate-I: Rs. 58,000 per month fixed, without HRA.

• Junior Project Fellow: Rs. 24,000 per month fixed for most listed JPF posts, without HRA.
• Project Assistant: Rs. 22,000 per month fixed, without HRA.

Funding note: The notification says appointment will be made subject to receipt of budget or availability of funds. This means even after selection, final joining depends on the concerned project fund position.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

ICFRE-TFRI will select candidates through a walk-in interview and document check. There is no written exam mentioned in the notification.

1. Registration: Report at ICFRE-TFRI, Jabalpur between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Entry will not be allowed after 10:30 AM.
