Only women candidates are eligible to apply, and the process is completely online. This is one of several district-wise Anganwadi Teacher drives happening across Telangana in 2026, but this particular notification covers Hyderabad district only.

Anganwadi Teachers run the pre-school and childcare component of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme at the neighbourhood level. If you take up this role, you will be responsible for early childhood education, nutrition tracking, and health awareness for children below 6 years in your assigned Anganwadi Centre — making it a steady, community-facing government opportunity for women with an Intermediate qualification.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed Intermediate / Class 12.
• Gender: Only women candidates can apply for these posts.
• Domicile: You must be a local resident of the area you are applying for, supported by a residence certificate issued by the local Tahsildar within one year of the notification date.
• Reservation: Posts are filled as per the roster point (caste/community) notified for each vacancy — only candidates belonging to the reserved category for that specific roster point are eligible for it. If eligible Scheduled Caste candidates are not available for an SC-reserved post, that post will be filled from the next applicable Scheduled Caste group as per Section 3 of the relevant Act (G.O. Ms. No. 10, SCD (POA.A2) Dept., dated 14 April 2025).
• Persons with Disabilities: You can apply if you can hear using a hearing aid, if you are visually impaired but can move around without an escort, or if you have a limb disability but can still perform pre-school teaching and childcare duties without difficulty (as per G.O. Ms. No. 39, dated 06.09.2011).
• Name Change: If your name has changed from what appears on your certificates, it will only be accepted if it is backed by a gazette notification or a court order.
• Mobile Anganwadi Centres: Two centres in Hyderabad — M.B. Huts (ICDS Project Charminar) and Joshiwadi (ICDS Project Nampally) — are designated as Mobile Anganwadi Centres. If selected for these, you will need to do door-to-door distribution of supplies and ICDS services as per government guidelines.

Salary

• This district notification does not print the exact honorarium figure, but Anganwadi Teachers across Telangana currently receive a monthly honorarium of around Rs. 13,650 under the state's latest revised rates (Central + State contribution combined).
• This is a fixed honorarium under the ICDS scheme, not a regular 7th CPC-style pay scale.

Selection Process

Your selection will be based on the following steps:

1. Merit List: A merit list is prepared using your Intermediate/SSC academic marks, with additional weightage usually given to widowed, divorced, or abandoned women, as per the state's standard Anganwadi recruitment rules.
2. Certificate Verification: Shortlisted candidates must appear with original documents at their respective ICDS Project office between 23 August 2026 (10:30 AM) and 1 September 2026 (5:00 PM), along with two sets of self-attested photocopies.
