Himachal Pradesh Jal Shakti Vibhag is the state department responsible for water supply and irrigation schemes across HP's districts. Its Jal Shakti Division Matiana in Shimla district manages local drinking-water schemes — pump houses, pipelines and distribution networks — that need trained operators, fitters and general workers to keep running smoothly. The division has issued an engagement notice for 30 posts on an honorarium basis for six hours a day: 8 Para Pump Operator, 3 Para Fitter, and 19 Multipurpose Worker posts. These engagements are made against posts allocated by the Engineer-in-Chief, Jal Shakti Vibhag, Shimla, and further endorsed by the Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Circle, Kasumpti, Shimla-9. As a Para Pump Operator or Para Fitter, you will help run and maintain the water pumps and pipelines that supply drinking water to villages under this division; as a Multipurpose Worker, you will provide general support at the water supply scheme. No TA/DA will be given for the skill or physical test, so plan your travel accordingly if you are shortlisted.

Who Can Apply?

For Para Pump Operator (Rs. 7,100/month):

• You need to have passed Matriculation (10th) along with an ITI Certificate in Electrician, Wireman, Diesel Mechanic, Pump Mechanic, or Motor Mechanic trade.
• Skill Development Certificate holders in a related trade are also eligible.

For Para Fitter (Rs. 7,100/month):

• You need to have passed Matriculation (10th) along with an ITI Certificate in Fitter or Plumber trade from a recognized institute.
• Skill Development Certificate holders are also eligible.

For Multipurpose Worker (Rs. 6,000/month):

• You need a minimum of 8th class (Middle Pass) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized school.

Along with your application, you must also submit a Bonafide Himachali Certificate, proof of your age, a category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) if you are claiming reservation, and a BPL Certificate if you want to claim benefit under that category. Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old as on 25 July 2026.

Salary

• Para Pump Operator & Para Fitter: Rs. 7,100 per month honorarium.
• Multipurpose Worker: Rs. 6,000 per month honorarium.
• This is a fixed honorarium for a six-hour work day — no other allowances are mentioned in the notice, and the honorarium amount stays the same for the length of your engagement.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in these stages:

1. Document Screening: Your academic marks and experience certificate (if any) will be checked.
2. Skill Test: You will need to clear a trade-specific skill test.
3. Physical Test: A physical test will be conducted as prescribed by the department.

Final selection is based on merit as per the criteria in the official notification. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the skill or physical test, and there is no written exam for these posts.
