Who Can Apply?

For Para Pump Operator (Rs. 7,100/month):

• You need Matriculation (10th) with an ITI certificate in Electrician, Wireman, Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, Pump Mechanic, or Pump Operator cum Mechanic trade from a recognized ITI.
• Matriculation (10th) with a certificate in these trades under the Government's Skill Development Scheme is also accepted.

For Para Fitter (Rs. 7,100/month):

• You need Matriculation (10th) with an ITI certificate in the Fitter trade from a recognized ITI, or Matriculation with a Fitter certificate under the Skill Development Scheme.

For Multipurpose Worker (Rs. 6,000/month):

• You need to have passed Middle (8th) standard or its equivalent from a school recognized by the State Government.

• Domicile: A Bonafide Himachali certificate is compulsory for all three posts.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old as on 31 July 2026, for all three posts.

Salary

• Para Pump Operator and Para Fitter will get an honorarium of Rs. 7,100 per month.
• Multipurpose Worker will get an honorarium of Rs. 6,000 per month.
• These are part-time engagements with 6 working hours per day; no TA/DA is paid for appearing in the skill or physical test.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on a total of 10 marks, split across these criteria:

1. Merit List: Marks are given for your percentage in Matriculation (Para Pump Operator and Para Fitter) or Middle standard (Multipurpose Worker) — worth 5 to 6 marks.
2. BPL Status: If your family is Below Poverty Line, you get 1 mark (applicable for Para Pump Operator and Para Fitter).
3. Experience: Related field experience with IPH/HPPWD/CPWD/PSUs or an authorized outsourcing agency earns you up to 2 marks.
4. Skill Test and Physical Test: Worth 2 marks — this covers your practical knowledge of pump/pipe repair, fitting, and your physical fitness to work in hilly terrain.

Around 3 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the skill/physical test based on initial merit. No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the test.

Skill Test Details

• Para Pump Operator: Tested on minor pump repairs, pressure/leakage checks, pump installation and motor alignment, fault detection in electric systems, lubrication and cooling knowledge, and operating regulating valves.
• Para Fitter: Tested on pipeline repair and leakage control, pipe fitting sizes and operation, thread-cutting with ratchet and die sets, and knowledge of village water distribution layout and flow regulation in hilly terrain.
• Multipurpose Worker: Physical test only — you should be able to carry tools and pipes in hilly areas, and have no physical disabilities or colour blindness.

Terms of Engagement

• Your working hours will be 6 hours per day.
• You will need to submit a quarterly self-reporting format to the Junior Engineer, and a consolidated yearly report will be prepared for community certification of your work.
• Unsatisfactory performance can lead to termination, but only after at least 3 written notices have been served on you.
• Selected candidates will be deployed on schemes already outsourced to firms/contractors — requests to transfer to another scheme will not be entertained.
