Responsibilities
- Hear and decide civil and criminal cases at the trial court level as per the Code of Civil Procedure and Code of Criminal Procedure
- Conduct fair trials, examine witnesses, and pass reasoned judgments in accordance with law
- Issue summons, warrants and other judicial orders as required during proceedings
- Maintain proper case records, judgment registers and court diary on a daily basis
- Supervise the work of court staff including stenographers, clerks and sheristedars
- Conduct lok adalats and mediation proceedings to facilitate dispute resolution
- Follow the directions and circulars issued by the High Court of Gujarat from time to time
- Uphold judicial discipline, ethics and the Code of Conduct for Judicial Officers
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognised university. Enrolment as Advocate under Advocates Act, 1961 or eligibility for enrolment.
