CSMCRI Seaweed Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR - Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR-CSMCRI), Bhavnagar, is hiring project staff for a Department of Biotechnology funded study on seaweed biostimulants. Project GAP2205 brings together analytical validation, omics research and shelf-life improvement to support industry use. The appointments are temporary project engagements focused on developing and testing seaweed formulations.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Project Scientist-I, code 01: The scientific role links biological and agricultural research with analysis of biostimulant markers and formulation development.
  • Project Associate-I, code 02: This chemistry role focuses on seaweed polysaccharides and substances that interfere with their characterisation.
  • Project Associate-I, code 03: This role combines experimental work with computational methods, including biomaterial characterisation and simulation.
  • Project Associate-I, code 04: This group works on seaweed formulations, their characterisation and evaluation through omics-based methods.

Post-wise Duties

Project Scientist-I

You will develop analytical methods for biostimulant markers that support compliance with the project’s FCO framework. You will also help create formulations and study how bioactive molecules affect soil and plant health.

Project Associate-I, code 02

You will work on removing interfering compounds during the characterisation of seaweed polysaccharides. The role also contributes to new formulations that meet the project’s stated compliance goals.

Project Associate-I, code 03

You will contribute to an integrated experimental and computational approach. The notice connects this work with biochemical techniques for biomaterial characterisation and computer simulation.

Project Associate-I, code 04

You will help develop and characterise seaweed-based formulations. The project uses omics approaches to evaluate how well these formulations work, linking their composition with their effects.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Project tenure: Your appointment ends with the project. It does not create a right to an extension or a permanent position at CSIR-CSMCRI.
  • Overall service limit: Project engagement across CSIR-CSMCRI and other CSIR laboratories or institutes cannot exceed six years in total.
  • Recruitment decisions: The Director’s decisions on applications, the recruitment method, interviews and cancellation are final under the notice.
