GMC Satara, a Government of Maharashtra medical college established in 2021, is filling 31 vacant teaching posts across clinical and non-clinical subjects — including Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, Radiology, ENT, Gynaecology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, PSM and Emergency Medicine. Alongside this, the college is also filling Junior Resident-1, 2 and 3 posts, whose exact numbers can change based on hospital needs. These are contractual/honorarium-based positions, filled on merit through a local selection committee while the state directorate's regular recruitment is underway. Both experienced faculty and fresh MBBS graduates can apply.

Junior Resident 1, 2 & 3

The number of Junior Resident vacancies is not fixed and may change based on administrative requirements. Selected candidates are appointed first, and remaining vacancies are filled from the waiting list as they arise.

Who Can Apply?

For Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor:

• Qualification as per the NMC Teacher's Eligibility Qualification (TEQ) notification dated 14 February 2022 for the concerned subject.
• Note: NMC's updated TEQ notification of 30 June 2025 is under correspondence with the Directorate of Medical Education, Mumbai. Once approved, eligibility will follow the 30 June 2025 TEQ norms.

For Junior Resident-1:

• MBBS degree with permanent registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council.

For Junior Resident-2:

• MBBS degree with permanent MMC registration, plus 1 year of experience as Junior Resident-1 in the same department.

For Junior Resident-3:

• MBBS degree with permanent MMC registration, plus 2 years of experience as Junior Resident-1 in the same department.

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 2,00,000 per month (consolidated honorarium).
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,85,000 per month (consolidated honorarium).
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,00,000 per month (fixed honorarium).
• Junior Resident (1, 2, 3): Monthly salary and allowances as per the applicable government pay orders issued from time to time.

Selection Process

Selection for Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor posts happens in these steps:

1. Merit List: Based on your marks in the qualifying PG exam (MD/MS/MCh/DM/DNB or equivalent). Candidates with additional qualifications or prior experience as Junior Resident in the same subject get preference.
2. Document Verification: Bring original certificates along with one attested set of copies to the interview.
3. Interview: Conducted at the Dean's Chamber, GMC Satara.

Junior Resident-1, 2 and 3 candidates are selected by a local selection committee based on merit and vacancy availability.
