Government Medical College, Gondia, functions under the Kunwar Tilaksingh General Hospital campus at Nehru Chowk, Gondia, Maharashtra, and comes under the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER). The college has released a notification to fill 12 Assistant Professor posts across seven departments, plus 1 Statistician cum Assistant Professor post in the Community Medicine department, all on a purely temporary contract basis to meet the teaching and patient-care needs of students and patients. Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor Posts (7 Departments):

• You need a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB) from a recognized university in the relevant department.
• You must have completed at least 1 year as a Senior Resident — this experience is mandatory, and you need to attach the relevant certificates.
• Candidates with prior teaching experience get preference.

For Statistician cum Assistant Professor (Community Medicine):

• You need an M.Sc in Statistics with a Ph.D. in Statistics from a recognized university.

Age Limit

• Open Category: Up to 40 years
• Backward Class Category: Up to 45 years

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 1,10,000 per month (all allowances included), for both Assistant Professor and Statistician cum Assistant Professor posts.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this recruitment. Selection is based on:

1. Document Verification: Your certificates, experience proof, and other documents will be checked against your application.
2. Personal Interview: You need to appear for an interview at the scheduled date and venue.

No TA/DA (travel allowance) is paid for attending the interview, and you must bring all original documents.

This is a purely temporary, 364-day contract appointment and does not carry any right to a regular government post; your service period will not be counted towards any future government service benefits. You must maintain confidentiality of patient records obtained during your service and are not permitted to take up private medical practice during this contract. You are also required to submit an affidavit committing to serve at least one full academic session, since resignation while an academic session is ongoing will not be accepted. The Dean, GMC Gondia, has full authority to increase, decrease, or cancel any of these posts at any time.

• Teach undergraduate medical students in the assigned department
• Assist in patient care and clinical duties under senior faculty guidance
