GIPMER Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (GIPMER), the Delhi Government's super-speciality teaching hospital on J.L. Nehru Marg, New Delhi, is hiring Senior Residents in its Biochemistry Department. These are purely ad hoc posts run under the Residency Scheme, so they suit doctors with a PG in Biochemistry who want senior residency experience at a major institute. You send a paper application first and then appear for an interview in the department.

The institute calls the number of posts indicative: it may change depending on the vacancies on interview day, and posts may be filled in phases.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment runs for 44 days, or as the H&FW Department of GNCTD orders, or until a regular incumbent joins — whichever comes first.
• DMC registration pending? You can still apply if you have applied for Delhi Medical Council registration. If selected, you may join provisionally by showing the DMC fee receipt; otherwise the DMC certificate with your PG qualification is needed before joining.
• Quick joining: Selected candidates may have to join within 5 days of the offer letter or memorandum being issued.
• Waiting list: A separate panel of wait-listed candidates will be prepared.
• Interview day changes: If the interview day turns out to be a holiday, or the interviews are not finished on time, they continue on the next working day.
• Rules: Your appointment and service follow the Residency Scheme, and any legal dispute falls under the courts of Delhi/New Delhi only.
• Travel and enquiries: No TA/DA is paid for the interview, and no personal enquiries or correspondence are entertained.

Application Submission Notes

Fill in the application form given as Annexure-I (available on the institute website gbpant.delhigovt.nic.in) and hand it in at the Academic Cell, D-Block, 5th Floor, GIPMER before 4:00 PM on the closing day. The fee can be paid in cash to the Cashier at the Accounts Branch of GIPMER, or by demand draft in favour of Medical Superintendent, G.B. Pant Hospital, payable at New Delhi.

On interview day, report to the Biochemistry Department, GIPMER, by 11:00 AM and bring all your original documents with self-attested photocopies. Keep checking the institute website, since any update is posted there.
