The Office of the Registrar, Gauhati University, Guwahati — one of the oldest universities in Assam and the North East — has issued a notification inviting applications from its own LDA/UDA staff to fill the vacant post of UDC (Contractual) in the Population Research Centre. Population Research Centres like this one typically carry out demographic and socio-economic research studies that support government programmes. The move has the approval of the Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University. Candidates from outside the university are not eligible to apply — this is strictly an internal transfer opportunity for existing GU staff.
