Who Can Apply

You need a B.Tech or B.E. degree in one of these four branches:

• Chemical Engineering
• Instrumentation Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

Your minimum marks should be 65% (or equivalent CGPA) for General, EWS, and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. If you belong to SC, ST, or PwBD category, the minimum is 60%.

You must also have a valid GATE 2026 score in the relevant paper. Without a GATE 2026 score, you cannot apply for this recruitment.

Age Limit

The maximum age is 26 years as on 18 March 2026. This means you should have been born on or after 19 March 2000. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as shown below:

Salary Details

Selected candidates will be placed in the IDA E-2 grade with the following pay scale:

Selection Process

The selection process has these stages:

1. GATE 2026 Score: Your GATE 2026 score in the relevant paper will be used for shortlisting. You need to appear for GATE 2026 and score above the cutoff to be considered.
2. Group Discussion (GD): Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Group Discussion. Note that GD will not be conducted for PwBD candidates.
3. Personal Interview: After GD, you will face a personal interview before the Selection Committee.
4. Document Verification and Medical Exam: Final selected candidates will go through document verification and medical examination before joining.

There is no separate written exam conducted by GAIL. Your GATE 2026 score is the written test component.
