Fakir Mohan University, Balasore has announced a Walk-in-Interview to hire 8 Assistant Professors for the P.G. Department of Education under the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), which starts from the 2026-27 academic session under Self-Financing mode. FMU was set up by the Government of Odisha in 1999 under the Odisha Universities Act, and is named after the noted Odia writer Fakir Mohan Senapati. The posts are spread across Educational Studies and five Liberal Discipline subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, History and Odia. No written exam is required - selection is entirely through a walk-in interview and document verification. Who Can Apply?

For Educational Studies (2 posts):

• Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed.) with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• NET / Ph.D. in Education or the concerned subject as prescribed by UGC.
• Desirable: Master's degree in Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology or other allied subjects.

For Liberal Discipline & Pedagogy - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, History, Odia (6 posts):

• Postgraduate degree in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• B.Ed. Degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• NET / Ph.D. in Education or the concerned subject as prescribed by UGC.
• Desirable: M.Ed. and/or Ph.D. in Education.

Salary

• All Assistant Professor posts carry a salary of Rs. 35,000 per month (consolidated, contractual).

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based entirely on:

1. Document Verification: Bring your self-attested certificates and mark sheets from Matriculation onwards.
2. Walk-in Interview: Held at the Mini Conference Hall, Administrative Building, Fakir Mohan University, Nuapadhi Campus, Balasore.

Note: The tenure is initially for one year and may be extended year-to-year, with a one-day break, subject to satisfactory performance. Selected candidates cannot claim a regular teaching post and must give an undertaking on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper. The University reserves the right to cancel the Walk-in-Interview without assigning any reason.
