ISI Research Associate I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is recruiting a Research Associate-I for its Machine Intelligence Unit in Kolkata. The project studies artificial intelligence-driven multimodal microvascular digital twins for monitoring the progression of chronic kidney disease. This temporary research engagement is supported by the J. C. Bose Grant sponsored by ANRF, Government of India.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial appointment: Your engagement begins with a one-year term from the day you join the institute. This is a project appointment under the named grant.
• Extension: The appointment may be extended up to five years, depending on funding and your performance. The same conditions can also lead to an earlier end to the appointment, so an extension is not automatic.
• In-person attendance: You must attend physically. The notice makes this a condition for taking part in the walk-in, so sending a query does not replace attending the venue.
• Complete information: An incomplete resume or missing supporting evidence can lead to rejection. Check that your application gives the information requested in the advertisement.
• Joining condition: If you cannot meet the notice’s joining checks, the institute may offer the position to the next person on its merit list.
• Institute’s discretion: ISI may decide not to appoint anyone through this recruitment.
