Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is hiring doctors for its hospital in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. This rolling recruitment brings together contractual specialist appointments and posts under the Senior Residency Scheme. Posts and Disciplines

• Super Specialist: the opening is in Medical Oncology. The part-time option is considered when a suitable full-time doctor is unavailable.
• Specialist: departments include Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Chest, Medicine, Accident and Emergency (A&E), Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Radiology and Eye.
• Senior Resident: the residency posts cover Anaesthesia, Chest, Eye, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Paediatrics, Radiology, Surgery, Medical Oncology, ICU and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract renewal: full-time specialist and super-specialist appointments start with a yearly contract, with further renewal based on performance. The overall engagement can run for three years but can end earlier when a regular doctor joins.
• Part-time engagement: the notice provides a one-year arrangement, subject to the arrival of the relevant regular or full-time appointee. Part-time super-specialists work four-hour sessions on four days each week and do not receive leave benefits.
• On-call availability: specialist and super-specialist doctors must remain available on call around the clock. Full-time super-specialists receive proportionate leave, with limited encashment when leave is not used.
• Professional cover: specialists and super-specialists must arrange professional indemnity insurance. The required cover depends on the speciality; specialists must provide the premium receipt within seven days of engagement.
• Residency tenure: renewal depends on annual performance review. Previous residency service counts towards the overall three-year ceiling, so the appointment does not restart that limit.
• Short engagement option: when suitable applicants in the advertised categories are unavailable, ESIC may consider other doctors present for a 39-day residency engagement, extendable by another 39 days.
• Reservation caveat: unfilled EWS residency posts are not treated as backlog vacancies. Unreserved applicants may be considered for these posts under the applicable rules.
• Travel and stay: you must arrange your own accommodation for the visit. ESIC will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending.
• Availability of posts: the hospital can change the advertised positions according to its needs and approval. It may fill all, some or none of the posts.
