Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract duration: The appointment can run for three years, subject to annual renewal after a performance review. It ends earlier if a regular appointee takes over or the notice's retirement threshold is reached.
• Ending the contract: Either side can end the engagement with one month's advance notice. Selection does not create a right to confirmation or continued employment.
• Private practice: You cannot carry on private practice while serving under this ESIC engagement. Consider this restriction when planning any existing professional commitments.
• Higher-rank applicants: If you meet the requirements for a higher faculty rank, you may be interviewed against a lower-rank opening. Placement with a suitable upgrade depends on your qualifications and the selection board's recommendation; it is not automatic.
• Reserved openings: Where applicants from the appropriate category are unavailable, ESIC may consider applicants from another category against SC, ST or OBC posts for less than 45 days. Further renewal requires another advertisement if reserved-category applicants remain unavailable.
• Provisional openings: ESIC can increase, reduce or cancel the advertised positions, or withdraw an engagement offer. An invitation to attend remains provisional.
• Joining expenses: Travelling and daily allowance will not be paid for joining, medical tests or presenting further paperwork.
