Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The initial engagement lasts one year, subject to the notice’s retirement-age cutoff or a regular faculty member joining earlier. ESIC may extend it annually for a further two years, depending on institutional need and your performance.
• Ending the contract: Either side can end the engagement by giving one month’s notice. If you resign immediately, the notice requires you to deposit one month’s gross salary into the ESIC account through a challan.
• No permanent-service claim: Selection does not create a right to confirmation or continued employment. A regular appointment through ESIC headquarters can replace the contractual engagement.
• Private practice: You cannot undertake private practice while serving under this contract. Consider this restriction before accepting an offer.
• Reserved posts: If a suitable applicant from the relevant reserved category is unavailable, ESIC may consider another category for an engagement of less than 45 days. Renewal is subject to a further advertisement and continued non-availability of the reserved-category applicant.
• Vacancy caveat: The detailed department table and the separate disability-reservation note do not agree on the overall total. This listing follows the detailed table; ask the college to clarify the reservation note before relying on it.
• Institutional discretion: ESIC can change or cancel openings or withdraw an offer. Attending the walk-in does not guarantee an interview or appointment.
• Travel costs: The notice rules out travel and daily allowances for joining, medical testing and submission of other papers.
