Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Government College (run by the Dadra and Nagar Haveli Ucchha Shikshya Samiti and affiliated to Gujarat University) is inviting Economics teachers to join as Guest / Visiting Faculty for a limited period. The engagement is valid for the Academic Session 2026-27 (Semester I, III and V) as per the Gujarat University calendar, with a break in service during vacation. Retired professors can also apply. This is a great option if you want to teach in a government college without a long-term commitment.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Master's degree in Economics with at least 55% marks, plus NET / SET / SLET or Ph.D (relaxation allowed as per UGC norms).
• Language: Proficiency in Gujarati is desirable.
• Retired Professors: Teachers retired from teaching service are also eligible to apply.
• Master's-only candidates: If you have only a Master's degree (no NET/SET/Ph.D), you can still apply, but you will be paid at a lower per-lecture rate.

Salary

• Fully eligible candidate (with NET/SET/Ph.D): Rs. 1,000 per lecture of one hour.
• Master's degree holder only: Rs. 500 per lecture of one hour.
• Maximum monthly pay: Rs. 25,000 per month (consolidated), as per UGC norms.
• The workload is around 16 hours per week. College timing is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (may extend up to 5:00 p.m. as needed).

Selection Process

Selection is done through a Walk-In Interview. There is no written exam.

1. Walk-In Interview: Attend the interview on the scheduled date and time at the college office with all your documents.
2. Document Verification: Your original certificates will be checked on the spot.

NET/SET/Ph.D candidates will be preferred. The selected candidate may also be asked to do examination duty and will be paid for it as per Gujarat University norms.
