About This Job

The Defence Materials & Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE), a premier DRDO laboratory in Kanpur, is hiring 1 Research Associate in the field of Chemistry. You will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 67,000 plus HRA. The fellowship is for 2 years. You need a Ph.D. in Chemistry or an equivalent degree. This is a walk-in interview on 7 April 2026 at 9:00 AM at the DMSRDE Transit Facility, Kanpur.

DMSRDE Research Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

DMSRDE is one of the oldest DRDO labs, established in 1929. It works on non-metallic materials including polymers, composites, elastomers, nanostructured materials, stealth materials, ceramics, technical textiles, fuels, and lubricants for the Indian armed forces. This Research Associateship gives you a chance to work on cutting-edge defence material research under the Ministry of Defence. The position is based at DMSRDE, G.T. Road, Kanpur.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Chemistry from a recognized university
• Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis can also appear for the walk-in interview. However, the Research Associateship will only be awarded after you receive the degree or provisional certificate

Other Requirements

• UGC/CSIR/NET/GATE qualification is preferred (details to be provided during interview)
• If you are working in a Government/PSU/Autonomous body, you must apply through proper channel

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on the date of interview (7 April 2026)
• SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years)
• OBC candidates (non-creamy layer): 3 years relaxation (up to 38 years)
• OBC candidates in the creamy layer are NOT eligible for age relaxation

Salary and Benefits

• Fellowship Stipend: Rs. 67,000/- per month
• HRA: As per Government rules (in addition to the stipend)
• Contingency Grant: Up to Rs. 20,000/- per year on reimbursement basis for two years
• Medical Facility: Available for self only through the MI Room on campus
• Not eligible for: DA, CCA, Bonus, or Retirement benefits

Note: The award of Research Associateship does not give you any right to further employment in DRDO.

2. Document Verification of all original certificates, mark sheets, and testimonials during the interview

The Director, DMSRDE reserves the right not to select any candidate if suitable candidates are not available. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
