About This Job

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Viluppuram is empanelling 20 Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) to assist parents and guardians of children in cases related to "Missing Children" at police stations. If you have passed 12th class and are between 25 and 65 years old, you can apply. The last date to submit your application by post is 25 May 2026, 5:30 PM. PLVs will receive an honorarium of Rs. 1,000 per visit (maximum Rs. 5,000 per case).

DLSA Viluppuram Para Legal Volunteers Recruitment 2026 - 20 Posts (Notification No. 01/2026)

Following the Hon'ble Supreme Court order in Bachpan Bachao Andolan vs Union of India and Others and the Tamil Nadu Government Order G.O.(Ms) No. 130 dated 12.03.2026, the DLSA Viluppuram — along with the Taluk Legal Services Committees of Tindivanam, Sankarapuram, Vanur, Vikravandi and Tiruvennainallur — is selecting Para Legal Volunteers to be posted at police stations. Selection will be done through interview only. This is purely temporary work — not a regular government job and you cannot claim permanency.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: Minimum 12th class pass. Preference given to those with degrees in Social Work, Psychology or related fields.
• Domicile: You must be a resident of Viluppuram district only
• Empanelled candidates can apply from:
  • Social workers and social activists
  • Members of non-political voluntary social service organisations (NGO members)
  • Psychologists (mental health experts)
  • Teachers and retired government employees
• Already empanelled Para Legal Volunteers cannot apply

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 25 years
• Maximum age: 65 years

Honorarium

• Honorarium per visit: Rs. 1,000
• Maximum honorarium per case: Rs. 5,000
• No regular salary, dearness allowance, allowances or daily wages — this is a volunteer engagement, not a permanent job

Selection Process

Selection is purely based on interview:

1. Application Scrutiny: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview
2. Personal Interview: Conducted by the DLSA. Candidates must bring original certificates
3. Empanelment: Selected candidates are empanelled initially for one year, extendable on performance based on Chairman, DLSA's recommendation

You must attend the interview at your own expense. No separate communication will be sent — venue, date and time will be published on the Villupuram District Court website only.

2. Fill in the form completely with all your details (name, age, gender, education, address, phone, email, current employment, criminal case status if any)
3. Select the Taluk you want to serve in: Viluppuram, Tindivanam, Sankarapuram, Vanur, Vikravandi or Tiruvennainallur
4. Affix a recent passport-size photo (with self-attestation) and sign the form
5. Attach self-attested copies of supporting certificates (qualification, age, residence, experience)
