DLSA Nagaon Para Legal Volunteer Recruitment 2026

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Nagaon is inviting applications for Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) to serve across Nagaon district in Assam. If you have passed matriculation (Class 10) and are 21 years or older, you can apply through the postal/drop-box route before 25 August 2026. This is a volunteer role that pays a fixed honorarium instead of a regular salary.

The District Legal Services Authority, Nagaon has issued an advertisement (Memo No. DLSA-N/05/2026) inviting applications for Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) to assist in delivering legal aid services across Nagaon district, Assam. PLVs help spread legal awareness and connect marginalised and vulnerable groups with the justice system. Teachers, retired government servants, law students, doctors, social workers, and members of NGOs are all welcome to apply for this socially meaningful role. PLVs who are already serving with DLSA Nagaon must also apply afresh; reapplying does not guarantee reselection.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed at least matriculation (Class 10) with the ability to understand and communicate well.
• Eligible Groups: Teachers (including retired teachers), retired government servants and senior citizens, Master of Social Work students and teachers, Anganwadi workers, doctors/physicians, law students, members of NGOs and clubs, Self Help Group members, social workers, and persons from a defence background.
• Nationality: You must be a citizen of India and a local resident of the district.
• Preferred Skills: Candidates who can drive a four-wheeler and are familiar with computers (MS Office) will be preferred.
• Note: PLVs are not selected based on the honorarium they will receive — a genuine mindset to help the needy in society matters more.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 21 years old as on the date of the notice.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Application Screening: The Selection Committee will shortlist candidates from the applications received.
2. Interview/Viva-Voce: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The Selection Committee's decision on shortlisting and final selection is final and binding.

No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview. Shortlisted candidates will be notified on the official notice board and the Nagaon Judiciary website — no separate call letter will be issued.

2. Attach self-attested copies of your supporting documents.
3. Mention your mobile number in the application form for further communication.
4. Seal your application in an envelope addressed to "The District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Nagaon, Assam, PIN-782001".
5. Drop your sealed application in the "Drop Box" at the District & Sessions Judge's Court, 4th Floor, Judicial Court Building, Nagaon, before 5:00 PM on 25 August 2026.

Incomplete applications will be rejected, and no applications will be entertained after the last date.

• Coordinate with Panchayats, NGOs, and local bodies on legal aid outreach
• Report grievances and legal aid requirements to the DLSA office
