Digital India BHASHINI Division Engagement Manager Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), an independent business division of Digital India Corporation (DIC), has opened one Engagement Manager position in Mumbai. DIBD runs BHASHINI, the National Language Translation Mission under the Digital India programme, and works with government bodies, technology partners and academic institutions on language-technology projects.

The manager will report to the CEO of DIBD and connect BHASHINI with Maharashtra and other government stakeholders. This is a project-based, temporary role for someone who can combine technology consulting, public-sector engagement and delivery discipline in a fast-moving environment.

The BHASHINI platform already hosts 300+ AI-based language models and works with leading institutes on Indian-language technology. The Mumbai manager will help turn this national platform into practical state partnerships, proposals and implementation plans while keeping local needs aligned with mission objectives.

Who Can Apply?

The notice looks for an experienced technical professional who can handle both government relationships and large-value IT solutions. Your application should clearly connect your education, consulting or sales work, proposal experience and public-sector exposure to the advertised responsibilities.

  • Degree route: A full-time B.S., B.Tech, B.E. or an equivalent degree.
  • Alternative route: B.Sc. in IT or Computer Science with a postgraduate qualification in a technical field may be considered.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in IT solutions sales or consulting, including work on large-value assignments and technical proposals.
  • Government exposure: Experience in a government-facing role and preparing proposals for Central or State Governments is highly desirable.
  • Preferred education: MBA or M.Tech.
  • Useful background: Startup experience and policy-level execution of innovation sprints will be an advantage.
  • Regional fit: Preference goes to applicants who are native to the region and fluent in the regional language.

DIBD may relax the formal education or experience conditions for an exceptional applicant. That is discretionary, so you should still present complete evidence of your strongest qualifications, government work, proposal ownership and project results.

Age Limit

  • The maximum age for applying is 58 years.
  • Your age will be measured on the last date for receiving applications, 30 August 2026.
  • The notification does not list category-wise age-relaxation figures.

Salary

  • The notice does not publish a fixed monthly amount or range.
  • Your salary will depend on your qualification and experience and will be fixed according to industry norms.
  • The position is offered on a contract and consolidated basis.
  • The notification does not specify separate allowances.

Selection Process

Digital India Corporation will screen applications using your qualification, age, academic record and relevant experience. It may apply a higher screening threshold when many people apply, so meeting the minimum conditions does not automatically lead to an interview.

  1. Application screening: The HR and project teams will review your education, experience, age and suitability for the Mumbai portfolio.
  2. Shortlisting: DIBD may limit the interview pool by applying higher qualification or experience standards.
  3. Selection interview: Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to discuss technical consulting, government engagement, proposals and delivery experience.
  4. Final decision: Digital India Corporation may fill the post or leave it vacant based on the selection outcome.

People already working in Central or State Government, a PSU or an autonomous body should apply through the proper channel or provide a No Objection Certificate with the application or at the interview. A person selected through this process may also be considered for another suitable DIBD-DIC vacancy.
