DGQA CQAE Visakhapatnam Group C Recruitment 2026 — 8 Posts

The Chief Quality Assurance Establishment (Eastern Fleet Stores), functioning under the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) in the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, has announced recruitment for 8 Group C positions in Visakhapatnam. These are non-gazetted posts covering both ministerial (Stenographer) and non-ministerial (Driver, Carpenter) roles. Selected candidates can be posted at Bangalore, Pune, Jalandhar, Vizag, Kolkata, Secunderabad or Mumbai. Who Can Apply?

For Stenographer Grade-II (5 Posts)

• Qualification: You need to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam from any recognised Board or University.
• Skill Test: You must be able to take dictation at 80 words per minute for 10 minutes, and transcribe it in 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi) on a computer.

For Civilian Motor Driver — Ordinary Grade (2 Posts)

• Qualification: You need to have passed Matriculation (10th) or an equivalent exam from any recognised Board or University.
• Driving Skills: You must hold a valid permanent driving license for cars and heavy vehicles, with professional skill in driving and knowledge of motor mechanics.
• Experience: At least 4 years of driving experience is required.

For Carpenter (1 Post)

• Qualification: You need to have passed Matriculation (10th) or an equivalent exam from any recognised Board or University.
• Technical: You must have an ITI Certificate in Carpentry or an equivalent trade.
• Experience: At least 2 years of work experience in the field is required.

Note: All selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years after joining.

Age Limit

• Stenographer Grade-II: You should be between 18 and 27 years old.
• Civilian Motor Driver (OG): You should be between 18 and 27 years old.
• Carpenter: You should be between 18 and 37 years old.
• Age is calculated as on the closing date for receipt of applications (i.e., 25 April 2026).

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years (only for reserved vacancies)
• OBC: 3 years (only for reserved vacancies)
• PwBD (PH): 10 years
• PH + OBC: 13 years
• PH + SC/ST: 15 years
• Ex-Servicemen (UR): 3 years after deducting military service from actual age
• Ex-Servicemen (OBC): 6 years (3+3) after deducting military service
• Ex-Servicemen (SC/ST): 8 years (3+5) after deducting military service
• Departmental candidates (3+ years service): Up to 40 years (UR), 45 years (SC/ST), 43 years (OBC)

Salary

• Stenographer Grade-II: Pay Level-4, salary ranges from Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100 per month under the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• CMD (OG) and Carpenter: Pay Level-2, salary ranges from Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200 per month under the 7th CPC.
• You will also get DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other benefits as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: If too many applications are received, the department may shortlist candidates (20 or more per vacancy) based on marks in the qualifying examination.
2. Written Exam (Objective Type — MCQ): The question paper will be based on 12th Standard CBSE syllabus, bilingual (except General English). Total 100 questions for 100 marks. No negative marking. Covers 4 subjects — General Intelligence & Reasoning (25), General Awareness (25), English Language & Comprehension (25), and Numerical Aptitude (25).
3. Skill Test / Trade Test:
   • For Stenographer: Dictation at 80 wpm for 10 minutes, transcription in 50 min (English) / 65 min (Hindi) on computer. Only candidates who qualify the written test will be called.
   • For CMD (OG): Driving skills, motor mechanics knowledge, and general smartness for Heavy/Light vehicles will be tested.
   • For Carpenter: A trade test will be conducted in the field of work.

Merit list will be drawn based on written test marks only. Skill/trade tests are qualifying in nature.

How to Apply

1. Download the application form (Appendix A-II) and admit card (Appendix A-III) from the Employment News publication or the department.
2. Fill the application form in English on A4 size paper. Prepare the admit card in duplicate.
3. Paste one recent passport-size photograph on the application form and one each on the two admit cards (self-signed).
4. Attach self-attested copies of all educational certificates, date of birth proof, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate, PwBD certificate (if applicable), and Ex-Servicemen certificate (if applicable).
5. Enclose one self-addressed envelope (approx. 25 cm x 10 cm) for receiving your call letter.
