Who Can Apply?

Physical Standards

For Male Candidates

• Height: 165 cm for UR/OBC/SC, 157.50 cm for ST, and 160 cm for hill area candidates.
• Chest without expansion: 78.8 cm for UR/OBC/SC, 76.3 cm for ST and hill area candidates.
• Chest with expansion: 83.8 cm for UR/OBC/SC, 81.3 cm for ST and hill area candidates.
• Minimum chest expansion: 5 cm is required.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is merit-based and physical-test based. There is no written exam mentioned in the notification.

1. Application and Document Check: Applications and attached certificates will be checked first. Rejected or unfit lists may be displayed on the office notice board and Dehradun Homeguards Facebook page.
2. Physical Measurement: You must meet height and chest standards. If you fail the physical measurement, you will be removed from the process at that stage.
3. Physical Efficiency Test: Marks will be awarded for 2 km run/walk, cricket ball throw, and long jump. The physical efficiency test carries 30 marks.
4. Merit Marks: Education carries up to 10 marks, sports up to 5 marks, driving licence up to 5 marks, NCC/NSS/Scout Guide up to 5 marks, and Homeguard family service category up to 5 marks.
5. Medical Examination: Selected applicants will have a medical check by the Chief Medical Officer or Chief Medical Superintendent.
6. Character Verification: Final selection will be subject to police verification.
