Central University of Odisha (CUO), established under the Central Universities Act, 2009, is located in Koraput and has grown steadily into one of the well-known central universities in the country. It has invited applications for 3 Library Associate positions in its Central Library on a purely contractual, need-based engagement. This is a one-year time-bound assignment that may be extended based on your performance. You will get hands-on training in modern library operations and practical exposure to digital library systems and advanced technologies while you work - a good stepping stone for MLISc graduates who want real library experience.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's in Library & Information Science (MLISc) or equivalent from a recognized university/institute, with first class and a consistently good academic record.
• Desirable: Knowledge of computers and emerging library technologies, and good communication skills in both English and Hindi.

Age Limit

• You should be 28 years or younger to apply for this position.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 20,000 per month.
• This is a contractual position with no other allowances, pension or leave encashment benefits.
• You can avail one day of paid leave per month, but unused leave will not carry forward.
• You are expected to work six days a week, and may need to work in shifts when required.

Selection Process

The university may screen candidates before the interview:

1. Written Test (if required): The university reserves the right to conduct a written test to shortlist candidates if too many people apply.
2. Walk-in Interview: Held on the reporting date, based on your qualifications and interview performance.

Note: No extension of time is allowed after the reporting time, and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The Competent Authority of the University can end the engagement at any time without notice, and the usual discipline rules for regular employees will apply to you as well.
