Central University of Odisha was established under an Act of Parliament in 2009 and is located at Sunabeda in Koraput district, Odisha (Pin: 763004). The university has released a notification to engage Guest Faculty in its Department of Education for the Monsoon Semester 2026-27. It needs one guest faculty for Health and Physical Education and one for Performing Arts covering Music, Arts, and Theatre. Selection is based only on how you perform in the interview — there is no written exam involved. This is a good short-term teaching opportunity if you are NET/SET qualified or hold a Ph.D. and want teaching experience at a central university.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale) in a Physical Education or Art Education subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Additional requirement: Besides the above degree, you must have also cleared NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or hold a Ph.D., or have cleared an equivalent test like SLET/SET accredited by UGC.
• Minimum qualifications follow the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers, 2018.

Salary

• You will get an honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per month.
• Guest Faculty are not eligible for the allowances, pension, gratuity, or leave benefits given to regular teachers.
• No TA/DA (travel allowance) will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection for this post is based entirely on your interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 13 July 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Guest House, CUO Main Campus.

Keep in mind the terms of engagement: this role is purely temporary, sanctioned for one semester, and may be extended for another semester if your work is satisfactory. It ends automatically as soon as a regular faculty member joins that post, your services can be ended without notice if your performance is found unsatisfactory, and under no circumstance can you claim any right to a permanent position.
